The origins of Sophrona Solutions can be found in 2002 when a
founder's
child was born premature and needed many appointments in her first year of
life. For the patient's parent, why was appointment scheduling
so frustrating? Why was so much time spent on communication when
an airline ticket could be booked online?
Given technology and its
ability to simplify operational processes, reduce cost, and increase
efficiency, it was baffling. Weren't clinics and practices spending time and money staffing the phones?
After confirming the business case and analyzing potential return on
investment for clinics, Sophrona Solutions was formed.
History
In the fall of 2003, the firm focused only on online patient self-scheduling,
today's QuickAppointments functionality. Sophrona's continued
innovation led to the formation of Sage Portal online patient
communication software. In 2005 Sophrona committed itself to to focus on the
Ophthalmology market with the development and design of unique
functionality for Ophthalmology practices nationwide.
